Student Eligibility Essentials for Coaches and Advisors

This session, facilitated by District Athletic Directors Tony Prka and Troy Anderson, will provide coaches and activity advisors with a foundational overview of the requirements, rules, and sportsmanship expectations established by the IHSAA, the State of Idaho, and Coeur d’Alene School District regarding student eligibility for participation. Topics will include, but are not limited to, school attendance requirements, residential requirements, homeschool student participation, academic requirements, definitions of on-target-to-graduate status, transfer rules, and other eligibility expectations. The goal is to ensure coaches and advisors understand the key rules that determine whether students may participate, clearly communicate expectations to students and families, and help promote a positive, respectful culture at competitive events.
